Accessing Cost Estimates

To access the cost estimates, open a case record and select "Create Cost Estimate" for new cost assessments, or choose "Cost Estimate" from the summary section if you've previously calculated estimates for the case.

Running a Cost Estimate

If it's your first time running a cost estimate, ensure you fill out the necessary fields:

  • Name: Indicates the name and some abbreviations related to the case, indicating the assignee's name, the type of assignment, and the countries involved. Please note that this is automatically generated but can be edited if necessary.

  • Move Type: This indicates the move type of the case. At the moment, cost estimates supports Short Term Assignment, Long Term Assignments, and Permanent Transfer move types.

  • Countries of Origin and Destination*: Specify the starting point and target location for the assignment

  • Start and End Dates*: Set the timeline for the assignment.

  • Salary and Currency*: Provide the salary amount and select the appropriate currency.

  • Bonus: If applicable, include any bonus figures to be added to the calculation.

  • Family Size/Dependents: Indicate the number of dependents, if any, using the icons.

* Indication for required fields

Once you've filled in the required details, the cost estimate calculation will run and you will now see the overview of the cost estimate for the case.

Editing line items

We can override specific line items. This feature enables finer adjustments to the cost calculations for each record or case. By adjusting these line items as needed, you can ensure that the cost estimate reflects the anticipated expenses.

To override a line item, click on the Override Values toggle when expanding a line item.

You can change the amount, and currency, and add a comment on the overridden line item depending on the purpose. The calculation will run instantly and will calculate for each override made on the line items.

Converting the currency

Above the chart is where you'll find the option to toggle between different currencies for the cost estimate conversion.

The displayed exchange rate is also editable, allowing for adjustments depending on the currency values that you are following.
